ABOUT KAT

Kathryn Ressa M.S., CCC-SLP, TSSLD 

NY State Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

Kathryn (Kat) is a New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist received her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Adelphi University.

Kat has a unique interest in feeding and language development, she holds an Advanced Certificate in Pediatric Dysphagia from New York Medical College. She also specializes in language disorders and utilizes a play based approach to facilitate language development. Her research has focused on pediatric dysphagia, language development and literacy, she contributed to several academic papers on these topics. 

She is PROMPT trained, as well as a trained Orofacial Myologist. Additionally, she has received specialized training in DIRFloortime, SOS Approach to Feeding, SocialThinking Curriculum, and Orton-Gillingham Approach. 

Kathryn is a member of ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) and holds a New York State TSSLD license (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities).

She engages in special interest groups to stay up to date on best practices in the field .

We provide you with expert advice on child development and speech- language and feeding milestones, and you provide us with expert guidance on your child. Together, we foster an environment that will feed your child’s development and help them thrive!

OUR MISSION

We believe that every child has something special to say.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive assessment and intervention for the pediatric population to facilitate speech, language, play and feeding skills. We accomplish this through in-depth assessments enabling us to create an individualized treatment plan. Caregiver training and ongoing communication allow for generalization and carryover of skills. We align the mission and goals of our practice with the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association’s code of ethics.
